Economic Strategy by Govt. et. al.

there were 990 uninhabited islands sitting in the sea
990 uninhabited islands sitting in the sea
a couple of them got leased under bid coz govt was out of budget

there would be 990 less a couple of uninhabited islands sitting in the sea
990 less a couple of uninhabited islands sitting in the sea
a couple more of them got leased under bid coz govt was out of budget

there would be 990 less a couple more of uninhabited islands sitting in the sea
990 less a couple of more uninhabited islands sitting in the sea
a whole lot more of them got leased under bid coz govt was out of budget

this goes on until...
there are no uninhabited islands sitting in the sea
not a single uninhabited islands sitting in the sea

time to revisit the economic strategy for the maldives.

if we could only sell bottled brine.

99 bottles of brine sitting on a wall
99 bottles of brine sitting on a wall ...

Our main soci-economic at this point revolves around buying/renting out properties all over the world, so that maumoon and his cronies can holiday all over. And we will pay big bucks to those who manage these properties for us and hereby name them AMBASSADORS..

It's interesting to note Ibra's very valid point about the Maldives govt's economic policy.

It's an unlikely marriage of neo-capitalism and communism.

There's no tax regime worth mentioning on one hand, and on the other there's lots of subsidies and freebies in their populist efforts on the eve of impending elections.

We have free textbooks for everyone, but no income to pay for them.
Every third person in the country is a minister or high ranking official with an unjustified salary and a useless rank.

The government must make more realistic the spending and revenue generating plans.

Btw, nice 'poem'.. haha! Was laughing througout!
